NJ Clothing Drives: 5 Clothing and Coat Drives to Support This Winter

Dec 8, 2025

Not everyone has the resources to get clothes and coats for themselves or their families in the wintertime, and you can play a part in changing that.

All it takes is giving new or gently used items to clothing and coat drives in your area.

You can repurpose a coat from your closet that’s in good condition but not getting much use, or you can go the extra mile and buy a new coat to donate.

When you give clothes or coats to any of the following New Jersey clothing drives, you’re extending the holiday spirit of generosity to others and making a meaningful difference.

Blue Oak Clothing and Coat Drive

Help NJ residents warm up by donating to Blue Oak’s clothing and coat drive. All winter long, you can bring your new and gently used winter clothes and coats for donation to Blue Oak in Bloomfield, including new socks and underwear, which are essential items for those in need.

Drop your items in the bin located inside our licensed cannabis dispensary, and we’ll bring them to Nutley Family Service Bureau nearby.

This local nonprofit, which connects North Jersey residents with social services and mental health counseling, accepts clothing donations as well.

With our clothing and coat drive, you can support people from the local community while you’re shopping for premium cannabis products that support your own well-being.

Jersey Cares Coat Drive

The Jersey Cares Coat Drive has occurred annually for nearly three decades, accepting new and gently used coats for those in need.

Its 2025 drop-off location has yet to be announced, but Jersey Cares is headquartered in Livingston near Bloomfield.

This means that the location may well be close to home once announced — check Jersey Cares’ website for updates.

All coats collected will be distributed in January 2026.

NJAJ Coat Drive

From Wednesday, November 19 through Friday, November 21, the New Jersey Association for Justice’s Minority Trial Lawyers Caucus will run a coat drive.

New and gently used coats can be brought to the Park Hotel at Meadowlands, located in nearby East Rutherford close to the Meadowlands Sports Complex and intersection of Route 3 and I-95.

Once you enter the hotel, take the escalator to the NJAJ Information Desk, where you can leave the coats you’re donating.

Pickup Please/Red, White, & Blue Thrift Store

Anyone in New Jersey can schedule a clothing donation, including for coats, via Pickup Please.

Through a partnership with Pickup Please, Paterson’s Red, White, & Blue Thrift Store also accepts clothing donations.

Located just off Route 20 in Paterson and close to the Parkway and I-80, Red, White, & Blue is a convenient drop-off option on days when you’re headed a bit north of Bloomfield for errands.

Lupus America Communities Household Goods Donation Program

You can donate clothes of all types, including coats, via the Lupus America Communities Household Goods Donation Program, which operates year-round in New Jersey.

You must schedule a pickup for your donations rather than bringing them elsewhere.

Lupus America Communities sells the donated items to raise funds for people living with lupus.

Donate clothes and coats at Blue Oak

Visit Blue Oak in Bloomfield, just off the Garden State Parkway to give your new and gently used winter clothes and coats a second life.

We’re an especially convenient location for all your donations if you’re also seeking premium cannabis products that empower your holistic well-being.
