Blue Oak Gives Back This Holiday Season

Dec 15, 2024

The holiday season is more than just exchanging gifts — it’s about coming together to support one another as a community. To round out our first year in business in Bloomfield, we at Blue Oak supported several initiatives that bring joy, provide resources, and make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors who need it most. Here are some ways we worked to make this season brighter for everyone.

Toy Drive With The Ganja Goddess

From November 12th to December 12th, Blue Oak partnered with Ericka Padilla-Toro, also known as The Ganja Goddess, to collect new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. Alongside other New Jersey cannabis companies, we served as a drop-off location for this meaningful initiative.

We’re grateful to our customers and community who stopped by to donate. Your contributions benefited the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey, a Trenton-based organization that assists at-risk children and their families. Every gift, big and small, helped us to fill two large boxes of toys and make a difference in a child’s life.

Whether it was a stuffed animal, an educational toy, or a fun game, the contributions of our community helped bring joy to children in need this holiday season.

Nourishing The Community With The Nutley Family Food Pantry

Blue Oak was delighted to support the Nutley Family Food Pantry, servicing Nutley residents who live just next door to Bloomfield. Any Nutley resident experiencing food insecurity can visit the pantry, where they can shop the shelves for food they and their families can take without judgment.

As we all know, life doesn’t always go as planned, and something as basic as having enough food to eat can become a struggle. The Nutley Family Food Pantry provides healthy, nutritious food to those in need while also connecting families with resources for additional support.

We’ve been collecting non-perishable food items like canned vegetables, pasta, rice, soups, and boxed meals to support this incredible organization.

Donations go directly to families in our area, ensuring they have the food they need during the holidays and beyond. We’re grateful for the generosity of everyone who has contributed so far, and we encourage anyone who can bring a donation to the dispensary.

Helping Our Community Advance Through Expungement Clinics

Blue Oak was proud to sponsor a free Expungement Clinic in East Orange, an important resource for individuals seeking to clear their records of minor offenses, like cannabis possession from before adult-use legalization.

On Saturday, December 7th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., community members gathered at East Orange City Hall to receive free consultations with legal experts. These professionals helped attendees determine eligibility for an expungement and assisted them with the necessary paperwork to proceed.

The clinic provided individuals a valuable opportunity to remove barriers to employment, housing, and education by clearing minor offenses from their criminal records. We’re thrilled to have contributed to helping individuals take this important step toward improving their lives.

Giving Back Together With The Community

At Blue Oak, we are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our customers and community partners who make these initiatives possible. Your contributions allow us to give back and strengthen the bonds that make our community so special.

Reflecting on the holiday season, we’re reminded of the power of coming together to support one another.

Thank you for helping us make a meaningful impact this year. We wish you all a joyful holiday season and look forward to continuing to give back together in the year ahead.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Blue Oak!
